How long do co2 cartridges last in paintball guns?

Can you use the "co2 cartridges (12gm used for air-guns) in place of "soda chargers (8gm)" for fizzy drinks

• i just bought a siphon and its tough to buy the soda chargers but i do see the local stores sell air gun cartridges with 12 gms of co2. can i use them for making carbonated water

  I wouldn't think the sizes would match up. Buy one, or get one from someone that plays, perhaps, to see. Or take your connector (if you can) to the store and see if it will hook up properly. If it will, you might be able to. They might have safety devices that limit how much come out at once, I'm not sure, so there might still be some incompatibility even if the hookups fit. I would worry that the stuff isn't food safe, though, it might be contaminated with things you wouldn't want to consume, but since it's for powering guns, they're not so picky about it. Least of all might be foul smells or flavors. I guess all you can do is test it and see if it works. Good luck!
