Why is rooibos tea good for you?

Am I the only person who loves Rooibos (also known as Redbush) tea?

  I LOVE Rooibos tea, it's the only tea I'll drink. My mum has been giving it to me since I was little, so I'm aquired to the taste and any other type of tea I don't like. My mum used to get it from a special organic health stores when I was younger as it wasn't very wellknown, but now it's got more popular and most stores stock it in the UK. Rooibos is naturally caffeine-free, and has less than half the tannin of ordinary tea. Tannin is what gives ordinary tea its bitter taste. It stains teeth and can prevent the absorption of iron in the body. Rooibos is rich in antioxidants, the substances that combat free radicals in the body, it can be helped to treat things like headaches, colic, asthma, hay fever and insomnia. Also it is also excellent for skin conditions such as eczema, psoriasis or dermatitis. It soothes nappy rash and improves skin condition in acne sufferers. The tea can either be applied to the skin, used as a wash or a drench for the hair to relive dry, itchy scalp, or used in skincare products such as soaps and cleansers. Hospitals in South Africa routinely use rooibos in baths for children with allergic skin conditions, as well as giving it as a drink. Yes, you're right. It is quite naturally sweet, and a lot less bitter then black tea. It ONLY grows in South Africa, exclusively in the Cedarberg region of South Africa, where there is very little rainfall. Over half of Rooibos consumers are from South Africa! :D
