Is drinking water straight from the facet better than bottled water or purified water?

Your teacher should be fired. They are lying. Tap water may have calcium in it but we should not be relying on our water to provide our calcium anyhow. Plus the amount is so low it won't make a difference to our health. Besides all bottled water, unless it is distilled, will still be filtered or purified. Filters and purification systems leave beneficial minerals such as calcium behind. Distilled water removes everything. So while tap water is ok, filtered is better, and purified is even better than that. Even if you have your own filter or purification system at all. They all will still have beneficial minerals in it as if it came from the tap. Only distilled water won't have them. I would let the entire class know this and would recommend to the school board to fire this sub and to make sure they only hire people in the future that knows what they are talking about.

Bottled water actually is worse for environment, and isn't any better for you. "purified" water is fine, but do not think that the Faucet is your enemy... it is fine, and tap water is better for you than bottled!

depending on the company some bottled waters are just city tap water, and the ones that aren't, are just super filtered with no fluoride or chlorine added
