Great ideas for chili in a chili cook off..?

  • I was entered in my works chili cook off this thursday and need some great ideas! I was looking for a multi bean, meat and spicy chili recipe and a GREAT creative funny name (also a prize) thank you!!

    You absolutely must add black beans and dark chocolate. I make my chili with both. Also, chipolte peppers are a great addition to chili as well.

Multi beans: kidney, brown beans, and black beans Meat: veal, lamb, and pork Veg: onion, garlic, celery, shredded carrot Spices: well that's up to you. I use chili powder, Mexican oregano, cumin, pepper, Mrs. Dash, green tabasco (flavourful with a bit of heat) and my secret ingredient is a tall can of Guinness beer. You can also purchase chili seasoning packets in the spice aisle. They can be quite good. As for a name, careful what you choose. No one wants to think about it coming out, just going in. Make the name sound delicious, like Triple B chili supreme.

Don't use something from the grocery store labeled "chili powder". Instead buy Ancho Chili powder, grind some cumin seeds into a powder and use freshly cracked white pepper. If you want heat in addition to the flavor add some hot sauce, jalapeno peppers, a bit of habanero pepper or some Thai chili pepper.
