Does gelatin make a good substitute for Pectin?

I was asked to make some marmalade and its gonna be my first time. I searched for pectin at out local grocery but the result is futile. so I decided to use gelatin coz they're both runny and colloid (I guess?).

no-but search recipes for the old fashioned way to make preserves--I think you can get the same effect with the right combo of lemon juice and sugar...

no. they are not equal. As at the service counter for pectin. It should be in the baking aisle. In comes both in a box and in a bottle.
