What are you doing for Thanksgiving?

If you are cooking Thanksgiving Dinner what is on your menu?

  • In the 6 years that I have been married I have never made Thanksgiving or Christmas Dinner. We always go to 3 dinners (my parents', my father-in-law's, and my mother-in-laws) This year we are going to out of town for Thanksgiving to visit my husband's Grandpa who lives alone and I am going to be cooking Thanksgiving Dinner. I am a little intimidated because I've never cooked a BIG meal with so many different things before. I'm not sure what to make or where to start so I would love to see what everyone else is doing to get some ideas. So what do you usually make (or what are you planning to make) for Thanksgiving this year?

Generally I make turkey and stuffing. However my husband now has a wheat gluten allergy so I have to change my stuffing recipe to one with rice. You can check with the grocery store, some will have the dinner cooked for you and all you have to do is pick it up.

You can start by making the turkey. Baste it every hour, and it won't be dry. Oh & Stuff it. Make mashed potatoes, the best are the homemade kind. Peel potatoes, boil them, smash them, add salt and butter. I use mayo instead of butter cause it makes them creamier. Make cornbread. I love the Jiffy brand. It's amazing. You can make a green bean casserole, look it up on Google, it's quite simple. Gravy, can be store bought I've never noticed the diff.. I'd get chicken gravy though, beef gravy makes me gag. You can make apple pie, or cookies for dessert and you'll be set. Good luck<3

Instead of turkey we're doing chicken to make it easier,Macaroni and cheese box recipe:D,mashed potatoes of course, Gravy for chicken and mashed potatoes, homemade buns, flavored corn, yams baked, and many other things which I cant think of this second

lol, this will be much easier than u think....shove the turkey in the oven, follow the instructions please or u will have a disaster....peel some potatoes, boil them, mash them up and add butter and milk and u have some tasty homemade taters. Buy the turkey gravy in a jar (it's delicious) green beans, stovetop stuffing (add your own onions and maybe a little celery) throw some rolls in the oven and voila! traditional turkey day, drop by your local grocery and grab a pumpkin pie, no biggie it's not homemade u worked soooo hard on the dinner, most likely granny made dessert! good luck

Turkey, stuffing balls, green beans, scalloped potatoes, rolls, and deviled eggs. Not to mention Pecan Pie, Apple Pie, Pumpkin Pie and lots of snack foods like chips and dips, chips and queso, cheese balls and crackers. And to drink Iced Tea and a hot German Wassil
