How To Make Sushi?

How to make Sushi? Rice n All?

  • I've read up on it a bit but I'm not too confident with my google findings. I'd like to make the boston sushi roll which is just rice, spicy tuna, avocado, and rooster sauce with the optional sesame seeds. Or I'd like to substitute the tuna with salmon. So onto the question. Where can I get short grain rice? How should I cook the rice? What should I add? All the websites seem to want short grain rice with rice vinegar and sugar added. I'm sort of skeptical on the sugar but if that's how they do it at the local sushi bar, that's great. Do you buy any type of salmon and simply cut it to your pieces or is there a special place to buy it or a special name? How do you make spicy tuna and is there any way I can replicate it with salmon instead? I'm not supposed to have too much tuna but salmon is on my list of okays. I'm sorry that's much more than one question but I absolutely love sushi. I just can't afford to eat out very much.
