Where are the factories that make fish cakes and fish balls?

Is there a sauce you can make to pour over fish cakes to cut the fishy taste?

  • i made fish cakes using whiting fish. i have lotsa onions. can i make some kind of gravy or sauce using onions to reduce the fish taste?

  • Answer:

I found tartar sauce works. Here's the recipe I always use. And the recipe goes great for dipping french fries in as well: TARTAR SAUCE 1/8 tsp black pepper 1/8 tsp onion powder 1 tsp pickle relish (sweet or sour - your choice) 1/3 tsp dill 1/4 c mayonnaise Mix all together and serve. Hope that helps. You can scoop that over your fish cakes as you eat it or dip each piece of fish cake into it.

I'd like to share my recipe for an extremely simple remoulade I use with crab cakes. I've tried it with salmon cakes, too. It's a good savory sauce. Should be great with whiting cakes, too. :) Combine the following in a medium bowl. 1 cup mayo, 2 TBSP brown mustard, 1 TBSP ketchup, 1 TBSP lemon juice, 1 TBSP Worcestershire, 1 TBSP dried parsley, 2 TBSP minced garlic, 1 tsp paprika, 2 tsp hot sauce, and 1/2 tsp black pepper. Stir well. Cover and chill for one hour. Serve as a cold sauce on the side. It's delicious! I leave out ingredients on occasion when I don't have them and it still turns out wonderfully delish! ;) Best of luck! And enjoy! OM NOM NOM NOM

i like tartar sauce with white fish like halibut and tzatziki with fish like atlantic salmon.

I would save the onions for another day and use a dollop of Dijon mustard to serve along the fish.

Butter Cup
