Which food coloring is flesh colored?

Flesh colored frosting?

  • I'm baking a cake soon and need a skin toned frosting for it. I have found many different recipes for mixing up the right colors. It will be caucasian. I will be using food coloring and simple store bought frosting (I have a lot of cake to frost and don't want to take the time to make that). I also don't have the time to try different recommendations. Does anybody have a good idea of what food colors to mix into the frosting to make a color that resembles flesh color? Thanks!

  • Answer:

The best method for flesh color I've found is to use Wilton's Copper Icing Color- just a drop makes a perfect flesh tone. But if you are in a rush and have to use regular food coloring mix 8 drops of yellow, 6 drops of red and 2 drops of green. Mix these together separate from the frosting. Then add coloring mixture a few drops at a time to the frosting until you get your perfect flesh color.
