i want to become some sort of cook when i grow up and my mom says thats not a very good way to make a living and i was just wondering how much do they money do they make?

You only make good money after years and years of proving your self. And that is only if/when you become one of the more famous chefs, not just on tv but in good resturants etc... It is very hard work with long days being on your feet all the time. But if it what you really do enjoy then go ahead and persue your dreams.
