How do I cook basic chicken breast?

I want to cook a chicken breast, I'm starting a diet and I need to make a lot of these at once so that I can microwave and eat them later in the week. How long can I refrigerate after making before it would be unhealthy? (3 days?) I'm trying to find ways of cooking this but people add tons of stupid crap that I don't freaking want and it's really, really annoying. I don't want vegetables, I don't want parmesan, I don't want to stuff a bell pepper into the chicken. I don't want to add salt to it, I don't want to teach it how to dance. I just want to cook multiple boneless, skinless chicken breasts at a time. So I need your help, how can I do this? I am willing to sacrifice a little, not very much, if I need to do something to make the chicken edible (Every recipe I saw talked about keeping the chicken from getting dry) but I don't give a crap about flavor. I don't want to saute a chicken breast with mixed vegetables, and I don't care how healthy it could be or what I'm missing out on. I'd prefer to do it without grilling, and using the least complex method possible (I'm sure it's obvious, but I don't really know how to cook anything. So I'm worried about my lack of experience causing me to produce dangerous, undercooked food) Thank you very much, I appreciate your patience with my frustation, but I really need to figure out how to cook today without all the frills. (I might add vegetables or flavor later, but I want a baseline first)

I would def boil it. That is the most no nonsense way to deal with chicken, esp if you don't care about flavor...and if you are dealing with the individual frozen bag of chicken that I imagine you have. And I see you have gone to such great length to explain how simple you want it and how you aren't willing to put forth any effort in order to get a better tasting dinner. I don't mean to argue with you about it, but let me suggest to you that going on a diet of shitty food is pretty much doomed to fail. Just as doomed as a diet filled with recipes that is too hard to cook, or food that you are too lazy to cook. The fact is you can cook super simple meals that are really delicious and really healthy. This is a win win, the result of teaching yourself some simple skills that will improve the quality of your life. I don't know why you wouldn't want that. My suggestion if you ever do decide you want to eat flavorful food is to indeed grill it or roast it in the oven with some olive oil, garlic, salt and pepper. That is just basic cooking and much easier to eat. You can do a whole bag of chicken at the same time. I would not however, cook more than 2-3 days worth at a time. How about you get a George Foreman grill and cook your chicken as you need it? I think it is about ten minutes from frozen. It is a safe cooking method, flavorful, and easy cleanup...and the resulting cooked chicken can be used for anything. Add it to your steamed veg, some rice or pasta, or whatever recipe you are following.

Your best bet is to roast it. - Preheat your oven to 375*F (for maybe 15 minutes or so). - Rub your chicken breasts in just a tiny bit of olive oil (this is not for flavor, but to actually COOK the chicken and keep it from sticking to any cooking surfaces.) - Place each chicken breast on metal rack / cookie cooling rack, and place a drip pan underneath to catch any excess dripping juices. - Place in oven for about 30 minutes. - When done roasting, remove chicken and let the breasts "rest" for at least 5-10 minutes. After that, you're good to go.
