How to cook chicken?

How do you cook chicken leg quarters, not any recipes just how to cook them the easiest way.?

  • I want to use the chicken for chicken salad but just need a good easy way to cook it first.

    Bake at 350 degree F for about an hour. Place in a Pyrex dish, add butter, salt and pepper and add a little water to the vessel. Water should be about 1/4 in height of the chicken.

bake them in a cake pan covered with foil with golden Italian dressing at 350 deg for about 60 min or until the meat is falling of the bone it is best if you can marinate them for a few hours 3-4 in the refrigerator . then put every thing in the pan and cook

When I want to make chicken 1/4's for either dinner or for a salad, I put 2 in my Crock pot straight from the freezer on high, no need to add any water, cook them on high for about 2-3 hours if they are for dinner then you can season them before the cooking, if you want to make sure that they aren't greasy, put a couple <or at least one> very small pie tin or a steamer basket in first, this will allow the juices to drain away. Try it you will like it I promise.

You can boil chicken first. But boil it for more than 20 min like one answer said please. That is still raw. I boil chicken for at least 1-11/2 hours. I cook quarters tonight with rice and cream of chicken soup. Pretty good.

First separate the thigh from the drumstick as the bulky size takes longer to cook. You can either throw the cut pieces in a pot of boiling water and salt or use that dusty pressure cooker if you have one. About 30 mins. after water comes to a boil (if using pressure cooker cut time in half). Then to get the outside crispy and tasty you can sprinkle old bay or any favorite dry spices and spray with cooking oil (Pam) then cook on the grille or in a fry pan. Let cool and shred on top of salad. Keep the water in the pot for chicken stock. You can take off the skin after boiling to reduce calories. Don't take off before boiling as you will lose some flavor.
