Do you have good recipes for mashed potatoes?

Last minute Thanksgiving mashed potatoes...?GOOD recipes please...Need to feed 20-30 people.?

  • Well, my sister said she was going to make the mashed potatoes but it turns out she isn't coming, so neither are the potatoes... I need a very good but fairly easy mashed potato recipe. I need to feed between 20 and 30 people. Thanks you for your suggestions. =) Happy Thanksgiving!

Jamie You will need about 18 potatoes, boiled and then peeled and cubed. 1 stick of butter or margarine 3 oz cream cheese 1/2 C sour cream milk or 1/2 and 1/2 salt and pepper to taste After you have cooked the potatoes, peel them and either slice or cube them and return them to the pot. Add the butter, cut in pieces to the hot potatoes, cube the cream cheese and add it to the potaotes as well. Use a potatoe masher (for old fashioned mashed potatoes) or your hand mixer for a smoother, whipped potato. I prefer the old fashioned way. After the butter and cream cheese have melted, gradually add the milk until the desired consistancy is reached.Add seasonings to taste. Keep warm by covering the dish and placing it over a basin of hot water

10-15 pounds peeled and boiled potatoes.. when they are fork tender drain off all the water, add salt and pepper to taste, 1 stick butter cubed up smash them together with a potatoes masher or with a hand mixer, add war/room temperature milk ( i use evaporated milk) adding a little at a time until you get the consistency you want.. Using a potato masher will give chunkier mashed and using a hand mixer will give you a whipped effect.. either way YUMMY!

Well you could leave the skins on some of the potatoes and mash them lightly (not really creamy style) but my family loves this one: Peel and boil potatoes, strain and add salt pepper a little garlic powder gives it a great flavor (not too much) use butter milk instead of regular milk and use I cant believe its not butter (you can use less of this butter than usual because its good) Use a cake mixer on whip and whip until creamy. Hope that helps. I find that with mashed potatoes everyone likes them a different way but with my picky family they all like it. GOOD LUCK AND HAPPY THANKsGIVING

you will need to pounds of potoes a sick of butter half a cup to a whole cup of milk. Cut the potaoes in cubes and boil till soft drain and add your butter and milk a little at a time while mixing them with the mixer add salt and pepper. If you have instnat it would b a whole lot eaiser and convenet for you. Happy Thanksgiving.
