I need a great dairy free, egg free, vegan, wheat free, gluten free, tomato free, pasta sause!?
-
I am allergic to dairy, eggs and wheat and gluten. I have been gluten free and wheat free for about a year now. About a month ago I found out i'm also allergic to dairy and egg. I play tennis in college and I really need the carbs! They way I used to get it is from pasta dishes. Now they only way I can eat pasta is with boring dairy free butter. I wanted to know if anybody has a good recipe for me! Thanks!

I made this one up last week when my cubbords were bare! it's pretty good (i used it for 2 servings of pasta): sautee some garlic (i used like 4 cloves...but i love garlic..it may be too garlicy for most people) and onions (i used 1 small one), add some lemon zest and/or juice, add about a cup of vegetable stock, throw in some broccoli florets and let them steam in the stock for a bit, while it reduces. Throw in some rosemary, sage or thyme and you're good to go. Add the (cooked) pasta to the skillet, mix up and enjoy!

I do recall seeing a soy based alfredo sauce not long ago. I'd have to google it. It may have been on amys.com.

Pesto sauce is traditionally ground basil, pine nuts and olive oil. I love it on both hot and cold pasta dishes. It's easy to make if you have a food processor and also available in most supermarkets.

I agree with the last poster-Italians tend to go for simple rather than hugely complex sauces. Experiment with the herbs you like- basil, oregano, garlic, lemon and asparagus would be good,artichoke...can u have peppers? If so roast a red pepper until the skin is charred, put in a plastic bag, chill- then peel off skin and puree with a little onion chili and garlic...use good quality olive oil and olives- there really are loads of possibilities. Experiment...also seek assistance at a good local health food store

Go for a vegetable, olive oil and herb based coating. People often think they need to blather pasta with heavy sauces and it really isn't the case. Try gently frying some crushed garlic, a smidge of onion and a little bit of fresh chilli in a generous amount of olive oil. Don't cook it too vigourously or you will burn then igredients and you really just want to give them a slight tinge of colour and release their flavours into the oil. Chuck in some thinly sliced mushrooms or even oyster mushrooms, some very thinly sliced red pepper and some asparagus tips, cook for a few minutes and then chuck in your cooked wheat free pasta. Turn off the heat, throw in some shredded basil and a handful of chopped, fresh parsley - serve with a mixed salad et voila, it's yummy. I'm frustratingly wheat free too (althogh I do lapse - and regret it - frequently!)

this is interesting because i just made dinner and i happened to make quinoa with veggies. im a vegetarian and i love quinoa. its a lot like couscous not as flavorful. grill some veggies throw that on top with some salt, its awesome. its gluten free, wheat free and has 30 grams of carb per half cup serving. its also very filling and easy to make. you cook it almost like rice. It also goes good with just about everything. Veggies, my sister uses ground beef and garlic. try it with some vegetables grilled in olive oil oh and by the way you can get it at your health food store Good Luck!!!!

Make a peanut sauce, and use chinese noodles or rice.
