What is the different between hard metal, death metal and Gothic metal style?

How much time is required to be able to playing a Black metal/Death metal style guitar?

  • I am a beginner I only know basic chords, It took me like 15 days to learn all those with a fast finger shifting/changing. I know that it is very tough to learn Black metal/ Death metal style of playing guitar. I just wanted to know that how much time it will take me to learn those type of style (if I practice it on daily grind basis)

  • Answer:

Well... I'm guessing you want to be able to play faster. To be able to keep with the big shots in speed, you need to practice songs with faster tempo then your used too. Try focusing on one song at a time till you get it down because when you try to learn multiple songs at once, it becomes a cluster **** in your head... You've only been playing for 15 days, so I would suggest learning some Judas priest and some simple Metallica songs such as one or fade to black before you attempt anything that is extremely fast. I've been playing guitar since I was 5 and I still struggle learning fast paced songs, so it comes down to time and practice. If you truly dedicate yourself to the jam instead of dabbling with it here and there, you will probably be able to pull off a song like children of bodom - Blooddrunk or even Pantera - A new level. But you can't just slap on a date when you can pick up your six string and wail out some massive riffs like emperor or gorgoroth. All the best, keep on truckin brother. \m/

Well, it all depends on how fast of a learner you are. I'm also a metal fan (but more of a Metallica/ Rammstein/ Avenged Sevenfold sort of metal) who loves playing their songs on my guitar. I'm a pretty fast learner, so it only took me about 2 1/2 months to get down the basics. Guitar can be very challenging, let me mind you, i've been playing for almost 4 years now and I still make beginner mistakes from time to time. Just practice everyday, and even after you feel like you got it, keep practicing. Hope this helped. Good luck, my friend!

This same question gets asked here over and over again, and the same answer applies each time: It all depends on how much you practice during each session, and what you practice. It's all up to you. You state that you practice each day, but is that 30 minutes? An hour? And what exactly are you playing during your practice sessions? It also depends on your natural dexterity. There is no way anybody on Yahoo answers, myself included, can give you an accurate answer.

The Truth Hurts! Ouch!

Depends on how much you practice And how you practice. Atleast 6 months in my opinion. Probably more though.
