What is the best hollow body electric guitar under $600?

What kind of guitar should I get?

  • I'm going off to college next year, and I am looking for a recommendation for an electric guitar. I have a $600.00 budget, however I have some specific specifications that I want: The guitar needs to be the sort of body style of a (but not limited to): Jackson Dinky or Soloist, ESP M or KH, Schecter Blackjack or Hellraiser, Ibanez RGA or RGD or JEM. You know, double cut away sort of a thing. (Also the pointy-er the better! (that includes the headstock) ) It must have 24 Jumbo frets. I would NOT prefer getting a Floyd Rose or any type of tremolo system (partially because I'm lazy). However price can permit me to be swayed. It must have active pickups (I have EMG 81/85 on my Schecter at the moment so something that has that kind of tone) Oh yeah, and any color you want, as long as its Black. Even if you don't have a specific guitar in mind, perhaps if you own a Jackson or ESP or both, I would appreciate if you gave me some pros and cons of any brands you can think of. Background info: If you couldn't tell, I like to play heavy, hard, and classic rock (with some metal thrown in there too). I've been playing guitar for 3 years and I know I will continue playing throughout my life. In other words, I am not going to just pawn this thing once I'm out of college, so please keep quality and durability in mind too. Any opinions (and/or jokes) welcome!
