Women only: If you subscribe to a health magazine, which one and why? I want to subscribe?
-
to a women's health magazine, I see they have discount specials this month. Is one better than the other or are they the same. I use to subscribe to health, but let the subscription expire. Any suggestions or ideas, and is there a better deal that you know of in prices. Thank you and I really appreciate your feedback.

http://www.cspinet.org/nah/index.htm It is put out by the Center for Science in the Public Interest I have been a subscriber for several years. I just bought a subscription for my daughter in college... It has great articles with lots of scientific information. It gives you lists of the best choices for food items... For example, they gave a list of crackers and highlighted the healthiest ones. Real information you can take to the store. Here is an article about what to look for in juices - http://www.cspinet.org/nah/01_08/rating.pdf They give you info about why some foods are bad and tell you about healthy foods you should try. They give recipes for them too. http://www.cspinet.org/nah/recipes/index.html Follow this link to the 10 worst and best foods... http://www.cspinet.org/nah/10foods_bad.html They have also opened my eyes to the environmental impact of one's diet... How to EAT GREEN. I have chosen not to eat beef and poultry because of them... I asked them if I could get some articles in pdf form and they sent me the entire April newletter. If you PM me your email address, I will email you the newsletter...

Assuming your looking for something more about overall health as opposed to working out or a woman's interest magazine, I reccomend Prevention Magazine. It's a fun little size, with articles of different lengths as well as quick read tidbits- kind of the Readers Digest of health magazines :-) They also have some good supplemental issues that you can pick up. I got one on walking last year that I love. I don't really read Shape or Women's Fitness, but have glanced through them at the gym. I find those to be a little too focused on those who have the time to work out more than I and the descipline not to eat too much ice cream- which I don't have! I've picked up the Weight Watchers Magazine as well, which generally has some pretty good stuff as well.
It is a pretty good magazine, has alot of information that you can actually use, recipes, exercises, etc. I had a subscription for a year and enjoyed it. Also like Women's Health.

Prevention, Health, Shape, and Self are pretty good magazines, but you should definitely check out fitness magazine! It's my ALL TIME favorite!!! it has good stories and it's perfect for the everyday woman! :):)
