How do I cancel a Seventeen subscription?
-
Okay, so I am ALREADY subscribed to seventeen and this months issue had freebies which you can enter in online. I went online, typed in the code for the freebie and my information, and then I get this message: THANK YOU FOR YOUR ORDER! We have accepted your subscription for Seventeen and will bill you $10 for 10 issues. Your first issue will be delivered to -----address here------ in 4-6 weeks. What a scam! All I did was enter to win the free bathing suit for today's freebie. Okay, so I already have seventeen and I DO NOT want to be billed for a second subscription. So what, am I going to get 2 of the same issue next month?? I don't know how to cancel without canceling my other subscription which I would like to keep. They didn't give me a customer number, so all I know is they are going to try and send me a $10 bill in the mail. What now??

Answer:
Since you already have a subscription, they will not send you a duplicate issue; they will just extend your current subscription for another 10 issues. If you don't want them to do that, go to Seventeen's customer service page: https://w1.buysub.com/pubs/HR/SVN/SVN_nameAddrEntry_combo.jsp?cds_page_id=41191&cds_mag_code=SVN&id=1302387582784&lsid=10991656439038125&vid=8 Login using the information that's printed on the label of the last issue you received. At the bottom of the left hand column under "Quick Help", click on "Frequently Asked Questions". At the bottom of the left hand column under "Contact Us", click on "Customer Service". Under "Contact Customer Service", click "Email Us". Complete the form and tell them that you do not want to EXTEND your subscription. DO NOT tell them you want to cancel your subscription, because if you do, they will cancel the subscription that you currently have, as well as the one for which you accidentally just subscribed. To avoid this problem the next time you want to enter a Daily Freebie giveaway, go to: http://www.seventeen.com/fun/freebies/ Click the "Enter Now" button that's to the right of the picture of the Daily Freebie. On the next page, scroll down until you see the picture of the magazine cover, and the section to the right of it that reads: "No purchase is necessary to enter". Click on the highlighted words "click here" and that will bring you directly to the entry form that will not start a subscription.
