Are there any awesome bands like slipknot?

Why Do people like bands like slipknot Panthera Ironmaiden kinda hard-guys?

  • why do most of these people around like slipknot pathera dope ironmaiden kinda heavy metal...songs instead of bob marley . ricky martin . westlife . alan jackson kayne west bryan adams.... ---these people's songs are somewhat meaning full and all and arises new hope in life and not atheistic and all but the above mentioned like..slip---pan--iron....etc are kinda revenge and no hope in life and bloody and heavy and make ordinary listeners soo aggressive.... is this the right way.... im not a insulting any of them..but you people have different tastes.. i just want to know why most of the peoples have these kinds of taste... is it bcoz that the Kali Yuga mentioned in hinduism [ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kali_Yuga ] [ http://www.hinduism.co.za/kaliyuga.htm ] or mentioned in other religions like bible or something... there is bible and people who read bible shows more interest in dark bible... completely absurd [atleast to some right]

Have you analyzed, in detail, these bands you are questioning? Or are you just looking at pictures and song titles? Iron Maiden for instance... if you just looked at their album covers you'd assume they had to be the meanest, hardest & darkest guys on the block. Then you hear the music and are pleasantly surprised with catchy melodies, songs about books that smart people read & guitars that make people want to be heroes. check it out for yourself

iron maiden and pantera are good bands. i listen to them and dont worship the devil.im a christian and i believe in the bible. slipknot is a little outrageous becuz i dont like music where i cant understand what they are saying(see rap also)

I think you have made some rather simplistic and sweeping statements there. Speaking from the point of a non aggressive 29 year old fan of heavy metal it would appear that metal has earned itself, somewhat unfairly a terrible reputation (thanks to the media). Everyone has different tastes, and one of the worst ways to judge people is by their taste in music. What you listen to, and what values you hold are normally unrelated issues. I have also noticed that the so called virtuous and religious types can be some of the most vindictive, hateful and bigoted folk around - in the name of religion, so religious affliation is also a terrible way to judge a persons true values.
