How do you become a Magazine editor or writer?

What qualifications do i need to become a magazine editor?

• Ive just finished school and i want to become a magazine editor. what subjects would i need to take in college, or would an apprenticeship be better? any plans/steps to becoming an editor? thanks.

  You will need a university degree and a postgraduate degree in either journalism, creative writing or English. You will need to work up to the editor role through the other ranks in the magazine industry as it is not an entry-level role.
