Which magazine is better: Popular Mechanics or Wired?

What is 'Wired Magazine'? And is it any good?

  • I was skimming through the top selling magazines and saw that Wired was on it. It had Brad Pitt on the cover. Now i'd heard of Wired before and assumed it was a technology magazine. but seeing Brad Pitt on the cover i thought what? So can anyone tell me what Wired is? I mean Entertainment Weekly is movies, Rolling Stone is music. What is Wired? And for readers of Wired, is it any good and worth subscribing?

    Not a reader, but Wired IS a technology magazine. About technology and culture. A magazine for "computer geeks", I guess. Sometimes they get celebrities to do cover shoots, but they have them hold computers or gadgets and they make them do tech-related interviews. I read that the Brad Pitt interview (a promotion for his upcoming movie Inglourious Basterds) was about "cell phone etiquette" and was kinda humorous. I remember hearing about Jenna Fischer (from The Office) being on the cover one time. It's probably just a way to sell copies at the newsstand. The magazine is rather popular, at least for its genre.
