What does it take to work in a famous magazine?

What does it "take" to work at a prestigious magazine like Vouge or National Geographic?

• I would very much like to work at a magazine publishing company! It's always been my dream, I would like to work at a big name place, being an editor or retoucher or article writer or photographer, ANYTHING! But, what sort of things do I need to get hired someplace like that? I imagine it would be quite hard! But, I am willing to work hard.

  To start your journey I would recommend you get some writing experience, either by having a blog that focuses on a subject or uploading articles to free online resources like articlebase.com to get practice. I would then start to call up or email companies I wanted to work for, send them my articles and ask for an internship if they had one.
