I'm talking about magazines such as: Game Informer, etc. (Game magazines) Entertainment Magazines (Music, movies, electronics) Anything related to that (NO celeb, glam, etc. types)

Answer:
Do you live near a publishing company? If so, they often hire temp agencies to fill various positions...some crappy, some decent like an editorial assistant. Check your local temp agency to see if they contract with a publishing company that operates a magazine you are interested in working for. Also, some magazines have open submissions...see if they will accept a review, article, etc. from an independent contractor. Last but not least...it's who you know! Ask around, you might be surprised who knows who at what company you just happen to be interested in.
