An old LIFE magazine I need to find.?

• Old as in 40's. I do not know anything but man article that was in this magazine. My grandmother whom I have just met (I am 19) gave my father up for adoption when she was only twenty one years old. We were able to talk to her for the first time on his 56th birthday this year. And she is now staying at our house for the next week. She told me a story about when she was 13. It was 1946 and she was in a diving accident and needed a new shoulder. Her neighbor found an article in a LIFE magazine in the year(s) 1944, 1945, 1946, 1947. The article was about an orthopedic surgeon named Dr. Hildebrand who experimented with using goat bones for replacements. He lived in Fresno California and did the surgery on my grandmother. He was in the LIFE magazine and she would give anything to get a copy of the piece. She has goat bone as her new shoulder and has never given out since 1946.
