What happens if you don't pay for a magazine subscription?

What happens when my magazine subscription goes into collection and I don't pay it for 10 years?

  • I never gave the magazine my social security number or anything. How does not paying a magazine collection payment affect me? And if I pay the collection, will my record get erased? Please put details. thanks

    If you don't pay it buy a certain issue they stop sending them. Therefore you wouldn't owe the whole amount. I don't think they can do anything without your social. I have decided I didn't want a magazine and didn't pay it and it didn't show up on my credit. I wouldn't make it a habit though.

It doesn't matter if you didn't give your ssn to them. If you don't pay the magazine they pass it over to a collection agency who not only hounds you but puts it on your credit report. I'm sorry but your credit score is too important to waste on a dumb bill like a magazine bill.

Don't worry about it. It WAS on you credit report, However after 7 years of not collecting any money the Statute of limitations ran out. So it shouldn't be on your credit report.
