Editors at high-circulation national magazines such as those you mentioned will, on average, make between $90-$200K (and up). This depends on the level of editor (chief, managing, etc.) and the size and circulation of the magazine. Female editors average lower salaries (sorry). The career path, though, isn't an easy one. Spots at the top magazines are hard to get and are very competitive. For smaller and local magazines salaries usually range closer to $90-$150K. That said, I know top editors at national magazines who make far less. If you're not interested in that career path, though, best to head in another direction!
