What is the appropriate age for girls to read Cosmo girl and Seventeen? what do you think of these magazines?
-
i subscribed to these two magazines for my sister as a present, but im not sure if she'll like them. what is your opinion about these magazines overall?
-
Answer:
Most of those magazine are geared toward teenage girls and really don't get too 'racy.' They're just light-hearted magazines that talk about "OmG Your CruSH" and all that silly girl stuff. I don't know how old your sister is but I think Seventeen tends to be a little more mature (IE: articles about sex and whatnot) so I would just Gage how mature you think she is but if shes a teenage girl then they are probably just fine for her to read.

I started reading Seventeen as a seventh grader. My parents were okay with it, as they were buying it for me.

they are both magazines with fun stuff. i have read them both. i would think at least 14 years old. it also depends on how mature your sister is. they have some heavy articles on situations that have happened to girls, and some people dont like those. but mostly, it's make up tips and stories on crushes.

Seventeen is perfect for girls in high school. Cosmo is geared towards girls after high school and into their 20s. There are racy articles in there that aren't appropriate for high school girls. I don't think they would relate to it well either.

Seventeen is supposed to be for teen girls but they feature sexually suggestive ads and articles on how to make your butt look great or your cleavage to stand out. Those aren't things that you really need to even use when you are a teenager. So, IMO, I would say that magazine is more appropriate for girls around the age of 17 (Hence the name). CosmoGirl is for the teeny-boppers. So is Twist and YM. I used to read Seventeen when I was younger and I'm 24 now and still read it, I like the magazine because even in your 20s there is something for you in there. But I will say that when I was younger I didn't know what tops to wear to make my cleavage stand out. lol
