What makes a person want to buy a certain magazine?

  • I'm doing a research on Fashion magazines. In my essay, I'm saying that people choose to buy a certain magazine because of its cover and the information it has. I would like a third idea so that I can extend my essay paper a little further.

    those are great explanations if you haven't already included this, say something like you know how magazines have catchy titles on their covers, like "lose weight now!" well you can obviously translate that into something fashion-y also I would say the price! if a magazine is 5 bucks, there is no way I'd pay for it, but 3 dollars? then yea because it's cheaper, so I think the prices of magazines would be something to cover too :)

Yup, it's true. Both draw me to a fashion magazine. One other aspect that draws me in is the style that the model on the front has. Not sure if that counts as the cover, but I think it's a slight difference. Like if they have a cool different outfit, it makes me interested in the magazine because I assume the magazine contains content that has to do with what the model is wearing. Good-looking models also help. Another aspect that draws me is the colors. I've noticed about myself that contrasting colors catch my attention. So when I see a white cover with black and red font, it catches my attention. I guess because contrast looks more attractive to me. One last aspect that draws me in is the headlines. Like if it says "new Spring trends" or "top ten skin products to try," those are the kind of stuff I'm into so I'll be more interested in the magazine.
