Successful in regards to selling well on the news stand? or Successful in regards to impressing a teacher/boss??? --------------------------------------… Knowing your genre / readership and appealing to it / them [highest quality paper and printing you can afford?] Clear legible masthead (or really funky one thats stylistically meant to be harder to read) Hi-res cover shot image, (that has relevance!) Cover lines - to tempt the reader in... maybe a flash with a colour or a competition or something... maybe with an extra 'tip-on' freebie to tempt the reader to buy that magazine over the competition... :o)
