Where can I recycle magazines for money?

Do you find: Buying Magazines a WASTE of money?

  • I am such a sucker for buying magazines and who am I going to blame them on? The answer: the media! Well don’t get me wrong the entertainment media is great and all – we got all talented people with awesome jobs to make great stuff awesome. What attracts magazines that lure me into their sleek, shinny and glossy papers are the way designers, editors put in COLOR! FONTS! PICTURES, and of course TOPICS! I would pick up one magazine from a stand and look at the front cover, then summing up what the magazine has in stores for me, wait for 3 minutes or less then OUCH goes from my wallet and there goes another waste of money gone. I’ve been told “magazines” are such a “waste of time!” and the “don’t buy them” lectures, warnings. But really not all magazines are waste of money right? Some can even be useful for other people, it’s like a book except it’s different. I’ve promised myself not to buy anymore impulse magazine buys, but apparently that failed. I guess it just all depends on what kind of brand magazines; I usually go for Seventeen, OK Magazines, and TIME, Vogue, Teen Vogue, Japanese Magazines, or band magazines, and Fashion magazines and the etc. Every time I pass by a book store and they have these stalls and rows of them, I just can’t help it. It’s like bad case of shopaholic of the magazines. Well whatever, I know I’ve probably spent around 50$ or 100$ more on them. I work so I use my own money. Just curious for other people out there what do you guys think? Now my questions for you guys: “Do you think investing/buying Magazines are a WASTE of money?” Please give out your opinions about it!  No harsh comments please.

    So let me et this straight you are going to blame the media for you buying magazine why don't you take some responsibility oh yeah I forgot this the new America Obama's America where there is no such thing as personal responsibility. Of course magazines are a waste of money but so is newspapers that's why I don't buy either.

I rarely buy a magazine anymore. At $7 to $10 dollars an issue it's gotten too expensive unless something really catches my eye. Besides a lot of magazines have an online site that you can look at.

Yes, if you look at facts, they are a waste of money. Magazines like Nuts, Zoo, Hustler, Playboy etc are a waste of money, because you can watch porn online for free, and it's videos, not pictures. I think they're quite pointless, because everything you read in a magazine, is already online. For example, the clothes in a magazine are already on a website. The news you read in the paper is already online. The articles about a celebrity are online BEFORE they get to the magazine. Everything they put into magazines is already online, for free, plus much more. You can also buy them online, so if you like something, you don't have to go find it. Shops sell everything online, plus more. They can't put everything in a magazine, so you're missing out on thousands of clothing deals (most things are cheaper online too). They're also bad for the environment. The chemicals in printing inks are very damaging, and the amount of paper used to make ONE magazine is horrible. So yes, using complete factual information, not my opinion, magazines are a waste of money.
