Reputable Summer Programs for High School Students?

• Hi! I'm a high school student looking at applying for a summer program, maybe a university one, or something to do with science or math. Looking for programs with a good reputation, and aren't overly expensive. Has anyone attended or know of any good programs? Thanks! :)

  If you're looking to go to an Ivy, I'd recommend TASP, if you could get in. http://www.tellurideassociation.org/programs/high_school_students/tasp/tasp_general_info.html IF NOT, what I would do is look into local state or community colleges and check out if you can register as a non-matriculated student. Find out if you can take courses and receive college credit for them. You can probably get at least the same amount of credits in a summer as you would in half a school year with a heavy AP-level track. Another HUGE benefit of the local/community summer class route is that they tend to be very cheap. Keep in mind that Ivies know that they are prestigious and tend to attract kids that have money flowing out their asses. e.g. Columbia Summer Program offers absolutely no financial aid. If a summer program is serious about offering students a chance to learn at their institution, they will most certainly provide a way around the financial issue, if there is one. Check out collegeconfidential.com as well, if you get the chance and ask around there. Columbia Summer Program=$3625 (NON-RESIDENTIAL, course credit only for some courses) Local College Summer Class=Maximum $600, course credit varying. Do some more research.
