Does it make a difference to get your ged instead of a hs diploma?

It really depends on where you are at this point in your life. What is your reasoning behind choosing a GED over a high school Diploma? If you're having trouble with the usual high school drama or just having a hard time with classes, I say stay and get your Diploma. However if there is another reason, such as pregnancy or home issues that make it impossible to go to high school then maybe a GED is right for you. Getting your GED allows you to have freedom sooner than your classmates, but just remember it is not an easy test to pass and it will take a lot of studying. It will also allow you to start college credit classes sooner, however a having a GED will make it harder to get into top ranked or ivy league universities unlike a high school Diploma. I would suggest going to a community college and then after two years transferring to a university. By the time you graduate your employer should focus on the degree you've received in college. Of course they may ask you your reasoning for choosing a GED over a Diploma, but if you have a legitimate reason (other than high school drama) you should be okay.
