What are the qualifications needed to become a medical doctor?

PLEASE HELP! WHAT CLASSES ARE NEEDED TO BECOME A DOCTOR?

  • Ok, I want to be a doctor after I graduate from high school. First of all, I have a very high GPA (grade point average) 3.9. I want to become a doctor after my graduation so I have a few questions. -What classes are required to become a doctor -How high of a GPA do you need to get accepted into UBC, how many volunteer hours, work experience other requirements? -Do I have a good chance of being a doctor if I have received 90% in Bioligy 12, Chemistry 12, Physics 12, Pre-calculus 12 and English 12? Thanks in advance for any answers

  • Answer:

GPA numbers are pointless, its based on %s. You can apply into the science department or apply for the pre-med path in Applied Science (Engineering). Hell you can even go into arts and make up your missing courses for med school later. I got in with 86%, no volunteer hours and work experience isn't mentioned for the school. Your grades in post secondary will determine that. You'll get an interview for grad school and stuff like that. I highly suggest you research on schools that let you go into the medical program right after graduation. The only countries I can recall that does that is Australlia and Germany.
