How much should I study for my GED test?

How to study and take the GED test?

  • I am interested in obtaining my GED. I am wondering how the process works and what requirements I should look forward to. I have already tried searching for information but I am having a hard time understanding a few things. Such as how to study for the test, where to take the test and also how to make my graduation official. Perhaps there is a website that I could be referred to? Any help or tips would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

What you really want to know is where to start looking in order to find out where to take the test. The answer is that you should start with the central offices of the local school district or at a public library. Community colleges also often have information about the GED. Those places will be able to tell you how to register for the test and where it will be administered. They will also know about any fees you must pay. There are two ways in which people normally prepare for the test itself. One is by taking GED classes, which you will find out about when you register for the exam. The other is by studying on their own out of GED preparation books, which are generally available at brick and mortar bookstores or at online stores like Amazon. One word of caution. Do NOT try to get a GED "online." Websites which promise you a GED entirely online are scams. In order to get a real GED, you must take the test in person under supervision. There are a few legitimate "study for the GED" websites, but you should avoid anything which promises you the actual GED online.
