The major difference is that in India a student is made to sit in classes from 9 AM to 5 PM. Every student in a class will probably study the same subjects. But in western countries, students go to class only during the subject time and everybody in a class would probably study different subjects.

standard of syllabus in india is very good compared to western countries but it failed to satisfy their practical needs and to motivate their innovations.
