Which California State Universities are more famous and better in ranking?

Reasonably-priced California universities for out-of-state students?

• I know that inexpensive universities is an oxymoron in California, but of what is available, does anybody know some of the better values in CA universities? I know the Cal State system is affordable for out-of-state students, but coming from one of the top 20 or 30 public universities in the world (it is considered a public Ivy), I just want to make sure I still get a solid education from a school whose name is recognizable and acclaimed. Any schools that offer scholarships for transfers would be excellent. I know that UCLA does, but their website doesn't provide very much information on how much. I'm interested in the Claremont schools but again, tuition is pretty steep. If anybody knows of schools in the lower 30K range or less or that offer scholarships for transfers, please let me know! Thanks for any advice.

  Basically a state university is not going to give scholarships to out of state students unless they are highly outstanding. USC and the Claremont schools might be more apt to because they are private. All you can do is try. Apply to them all, the fee is not that much when you think about the reward of a recognizable name.
