What does is take to become a neurosurgeon?

What high school classes should i take to become a neurosurgeon?

  • I am in eighth grade and i was recentley inspired to become a neurosurgeon. I was curious about what classes to take in high school and college to become one. I am already in honors classes so i will already be ahead in high school i love science so i guess that is good i will already have a credit in math from taking algebra. i will take any and all suggestions on the subject in cluding suggestions on colleges!! Thanks

  • Answer:

A neurosurgeon has a bachelors degree (any major and the premed classes, very high college GPA, great MCAT scores), a medical degree (4 years), a 5-year surgical residency, and a 5 year fellowship in neurosurgery. 18 years of college and training before you can apply for a job in the field. Nothing you do before high school counts for college and nothing you do before college counts for medical school. Take all the math and science you can to prepare.

Hahahahaha...just relax...all you really need to shoot for is a 4.0 GPA and above a 1200 on your SAT...that will get you into a good college....worry about college then...same thing try to get a 4.0 and so well on your MCAT....then med school, etc, etc.
