Creating a calendar for my daughter, need some ideas?

Need some counterarguments for my research/persuasive paper?

• So I picked a topic that's too personal to me and now I'm having trouble coming up with counterarguments. I decided to write the paper on why I think learning sign language should be mandatory. Some of my reasons include a few examples of deaf people being killed by police because police didn't understand, The only school for the deaf around here is one in IA so I'd either have to move or send my daughter to live there, it would also create more jobs in schools because of the need for sign language teachers. The only counterargument I have so far is that we as a society forced the deaf into creating their own culture, and now they have too much pride in themselves to want to integrate. (Please don't take offense, it's just what I have so far and by no means am I saying this is a bad thing) I still need to write down a couple more supporting arguments but I have those coming out the ears lol, I just need help/ideas to counter my topic.

  1. the cost of such a project 2. the time it would take to teach all the teachers that would be required. 3. if you don't use a language regularly you do lose it. The cost/benefit would not be there. 4. how is this compatable with others with a disability? How do you teach the blind to sign, or a person with muscular distrophy? 5. what does this actually teach (apart from how to interact with the deaf)?
