How to prepare to become a sucessful lawyer?

  • I am a 14 year old singaporean willing to do anything for my aspiration to become a lawyer or prosecutor. I plan to become a prosecutor for a few years before changing to a lawyer after gaining experience. Should I do so? What basic preparation can i start on? I am a perfectionist.

    First of all, compliments for having clear ideas as such a young age. To become a Lawyer, the two most important things you'll have to do is study Law in college and pass the Bar Exam (see http://www.howtobecomealawyerhq.com/required-studies/ for more information). However, since you're still young, it will be a while before you'll reach that point. In the meantime, you might want to study topics that will enhance the skills which will help you in your Law Career, such as logical thinking, intelligence, good english and attention for detail. I'd therefore recommend focusing on Law (obvious), Psychology, some Mathematics and Literature, to get started.
