You're right. I was also confused about it. Lets first divide them into 2 groups. 1:MBA & PGDBA MBA is a degree provided by a University and is recognised globally. Course duration is 2 years. PGDBA is a smaller version of MBA. Course duration is 1 year. It is provided by an Institute and is NOT globally recognised. MBA is always preferred over PGDBA. But people gets attracted to it due to less course duration. 2:MMS & PGDM MMS is a degree provided by a University and is recognised globally. Course duration is 2 years. PGDM is a smaller version of MMS. Course duration is 1 year. It is provided by an Institute and is NOT globally recognised. MMS is always preferred over PGDM. But people gets attracted to it due to less course duration. Now you will be wondering what's the difference between MBA and MMS Basically, both are same. Its common highlight is, these courses are designed to introduce students to the various areas of business such as finance, marketing, accounting, human resources etc. Some Universities gives MBA while some MMS. MBA is always recommended over MMS as most of the Universities give MBA. Still, after a long search i could find minute difference in the way of teaching and syllabus. I think MBA would go more into advanced business concepts for those who already have a business background through education and/or job experiences. And MMS is designed to give business skills to professionals who do not have a business skills to professionals who do not have a business background. It also focus on team work and cooperation side of business whereas MBA focuses on performing well for a specific company. I know it would be still confusing to you. But hope i helped. Anyways MBA is the one i choose for my future. Well, that decision may change as i'm also interested in teaching profession. c:
