What's better IB or A levels?

A levels or IB for a prospective medical student?

  • Which of these two options would be better for me when applying to medical schools in the UK? 1. IB English literature- Standard level French- Standard level History- Standard level Chemistry- Higher level Mathematics- Higher level Biology- Higher level 2. A levels Along with some AS's (i.e history, english lit/lang, IT and the ones below).... A2-Biology -Physics -Chemistry -Mathematics (even with the A Levels I would do voluntary work and work experience similar to that in the IB course) I understand that different universities want different things, but what is the general view. I am looking to apply to places such as Imperial College London.

  • Answer:

What depends is your score in either the IB or at A levels. I'd recommend the IB, and the fact that, at this stage, you are able to consider taking four not-too-closely-related A levels (unlike Maths and Further Maths) along with some *** shows how much the A-level course has been dumbed down. If you want a broad-based course go for the IB, not A-levels.

A levels, definitely! IB would be more essential for the US. THe A levels are conducted by cambridge!
