Should smoking be allowed in schools?
-
I don't encourage smoking or smoke myself, I just wanted some opinions. I am referring to smoking in colleges and sixth forms where students are 18 and over. So, a school that I used to go to was for students aged 14 to 18 and like most schools there were people that smoked but the guidelines set by the schools stated that smoking or the possession of tobacco wasn't allowed. Now I understand that for anyone under the age of 18 smoking is illegal so in that respect the school was just following the law. However should students that smoke and that are allowed legally be allowed to do so during their break. It should be noted that no smoking whatsoever was allowed on school property and the only time students could be outside of school grounds was during lunch providing they were the older students (aged 17/18) and even then the school stated that they didn't want students to be smoking outside of the grounds either. So I'm pretty much just asking if you think that the students should like people who work (who may have designated smoke breaks) be permitted to smoke during the day (obviously I mean outside of the school building) as it is quite a long period of time to ask most smokers to go without a cigarette (9AM-4PM). It should also be said that even though there were study periods the students are not allowed to leave the school building or go home during them.

Answer:
I think nobody in school staff or students should be allowed to smoke anywhere on the school grounds or within sight of the school grounds.

Heck no, it is their business to infect their bodies but I will not get cancer from THEIR second hand smoke. Plus, it's annoying and distracting.

Mate, we don't need to learn every lesson the tough way ( I mean after causing real damage to our health), do we? The worst part is the addictiveness of cigarettes. Applies to adults as well as non-adults. But when you're non-adult, the ill effect of smoke is worse if I am not wrong. Why don't you you distract your thoughts to something else and away from that question?
Under no circumstances should smoking be allowed in schools. Smoking destroys lives, it make you smell, it's not cool, it makes you a burden on health care etc etc. I can't think of one good thing it is worth; other than being a fantastic source of tax for the government.

Why the **** would you even ask a question like that? Of course not. why so the kids can all grow up to smoke damage there longs and get cancer and die at age 30? Or maybe so they can smuggle cigs into school and share with everyone. Or maybe second hand smoking sounds nice?
