What jobs can u get into with photography?w/ or w/o a certificate?someone explain the message please. its b/ s

  • so i wanted to go to nyip and do it online.but i dont know the cost of the course. so i emailed them. didnt get what i wanted back. this is my note to them.> I was browsing the NYIP site and I am wanting to get into photography, I do take pictures on my spare time and what not, but I would like some certificate with it. I am emailing you because I saw the whole site but just one question and I'm sure you get this alot. How much exactly does the online course cost? I am finishing with my certificate in Medical administrative assisting, but I don't even want to do that. My passion is photography and I would love to get more into it, but I would like to know more less a price cost on the class please, or what's the monthly payment we send anything will be helpful. and here is their response: Hi Thanks for your note. NYI has one location only and is strictly a distance education.. We provide no on site training. In this way you can study photography in the comfort of your own home and at your own pace. We have been around since 1910 and have trained tens of thousands of students from all over the world - over 120 different countries. When you graduate, you will receive a graduation certificate of completion. Our Certificate is widely recognized and everyone in the photo industry knows who we are, mainly because we have been around for so long. But no certificate or piece of paper will get you a job in photography. Photography is an art form and as such you have to demonstrate actual skills. That means a portfolio of professional-quality images. Portfolio development is very much a part of our program. Regards, Amy NYI

  • Answer:

Basically NYIP will not tell you the cost of the program via email. You need to click on the link in the left hand corner that says FREE COURSE CATALOG. Once you do this fill out the information requested and submit. You will receive a description of the course as well as cost information via mail. NYIP does not have an on-line or on-site course. They work through the mail. They will send you books and Cd's + videos that you will use. There will be tests and photo assignments included with the lessons. You will send these in to your assigned mentor/teacher and he/she will critique them on tape and send this back to you. It is a very good program - the information is excellent. The course was less than $1000 when I did it several years back, but I'm not sure about now. I am into photography as a hobby so I can't help you with the career part, but there was information about that within the course also. If nothing else my pictures are much better now!

With the new America being half Hispanic, and they do like big weddings. You may start out by advertising that you do Wedding Photography. That way you can gain experience. I would go to a large church and tell them what you do and ask if they could recommend you as a Church Photographer. Don't know if that will work, but nothing to lose there by asking. News papers are good places to work too. You get to travel a lot. Studying conversational spanish may be a help to you.
