Answer:
you should study fashion at a university. it depends which one has the best programs. look into good art schools, and FIT, and URhode Island among others. In high school, generally just get good grades, but try to take a lot of visual arts classes and get good grades, and try to have your extra cirriculars be in the art field. internships? just take what you can get. its all about networking. try to work at a magazine in their fashion department, or for a designer (even if its a small scale town designer). just show experience and passion in the field. my friend got into FIT and she wasn't a stellar student but took fashion design classes at my high school, and had it consume her life. she made her own prom dress and put the photos of it in her portfolio, and made all teh clothes for our towns "fashion show" etc.

in high school you should take home ec., photography..etC. for college you should apply to a fashion and art school. you should get high grades in everythinq..so the college that you want to go too...will accept you with honors. good intern jobs...would be working for big designer name labels over the summer or sometihng,.like baby phat, juicy couture, victoria secret, prada, chanel, gucci, kenneth cole, armani, versace, valentino, docle & gabbana, =]

You should concentrate on art classes, especially drawing. Draw in your spare time also, especially the human figure and your fashion design ideas. You need material to put together a portfolio for your application to art school. Attend a college that offers a fashion major, such as RISD, Providence RI or Parsons in NYC. These colleges will help you to get internships later after you are a student. But first you have to get in! Draw, draw and draw some more!

I'd take business (or if your school does not have business then economics), art (or art history perhaps), also drama and theatre studies would be good and you could get into the costume design aspect of it rather than acting. Other than that I think all good basic subjects would do: English, History etc. - anything you are interested in. They are all a good base. I have friends who studied fashion at university - some fashion with business - I guess this gives an added bonus/back up. There are some good opportunities. For example, I know someone studying in London and got to go to New York for a year's internship. Be yourself, dress in a way that expresses yourself and apply for things and be confident about it and you should do well. Good luck!!

ok so i wish i went to a public school for this reason i want to study fashion too. You need to take art classes to help with drawing and sketching if you want 2 design. and definitely need to take sewing class or a Home Ec. class that will teach you to sew. i'm not offered these classes so i am at the disadvantage. There are diffrent schools that will fit what part of the industry you want to work in so between a college and a university is all dependent on what you want to study but a Fashion institute would be the best choice i am looking at the International fashion IsInstaten maryland and usually after graduation or during the your studys at fashion instuties they will help arrange for intenerships

you should look at universities with good fashion and design programs. They are nessecary for getting good internships. in high school is does not matter what classes you take. some home ec ones would be good but its ur gpa that matters.
