How do some students enroll in college as a sophomore straight out of high school?

  • Like, how many credits and what kinds do you actually need to enroll as a sophomore? My sister goes to the university that I want to. And she started out as a freshmen, then skipped a whole semester and became a sophomore. Ehhh.

    Many students take dual enrollment classes with their community college through thier high school to earn college credit. Most of the standard freshman classes they take at these community colleges are transferable to most universities. Also, if students score high enough on AP exams and their AP grades are good then they have the option to skip that class in college. If they have enough AP's to skip an entire year's worth of work then they start college as a sophomore

You take Advanced Placement or AP classes and also Dual Credit courses offered through your high school. I seriously doubt that you will be able to come into college as a sophomore though. I took all the AP and Dual Credit classes I could and it took me a semester in college to become a sophomore.

well its not really like theyre going to college..its called early acceptance. People usually do it if they are absolutely sure that its the college they want to go to

They take A.P. classes their senior year. Your school has to offer them. Some don't.

usually 30 credits makes you a sophomore. You just need AP credits from your highschool that the university will accept

You need to take courses that acumulate to 30 units. Any classes. anywhere. Then you can transfer those credits to whatever college you want to go to. And you'll be a transfer student..as a sophomore.hope this helped

dual enrollment classes...you get both high school and college credit for them. like english 121 and 122, biology 101 stuff like that it counts for a high school english and science credit as well as a college one
