How can i study effectively?

  • my exams are next week and i can't study. i'm so worried, everything is so difficult that i can only study it for a few minutes before i get annoyed and get up from the desk. please help! how do you study effectively?

  • Answer:

I had my first exam today... german oral... but they start realy next week. I am in quite a situation. I was expected to get A's and B's and one A* for my german... BUT i have forgotten everything NO JOKE. I am scared and find it hard to revise... at home. My best friend and I revise amazing together. I love to go to her house with all my books and we sit on her kitchen table. I think i feel like this because her house is so bright with so many windows and spacious while mine is so dark and not revising compatable at all. Also realy... just a change in surroundings does some good. Change rooms in your house or something. Now I cannot talk because I havnt even done any homework today... revision or whatever... but soon I WILL FORCE MYSELF TO... I will say... 'WORK NOW OR YOU WILL FAIL YOUR GCSES AND BE POOR AND A SAD PERSON AND HAVE A STUPID NORMAL JOB IN A BORING OFFICE AND YOU WILL NEVER FORGIVE YOURSELF JUST BECAUSE YOU ARE A LAZY BONES.' .... that ought to work...... you say it to :) If I revise today then you should too! Just keep on thinking... there is this person who is revising when I am not and she will have a better life than me... now way am i going to let that happen. Im going to go now and try to learn 2 years worth of music theory in a week now :) bibi edit: sorry i thought you were doing gcse's like me :$

You might want to do something to ease your mind. And I don't know if this works on everyone, but when I drink tea I always calm down. Secondly, make sure it's as silent as possible in your environment, and if possible you should be in a room with the least amount of distractions (turned on computers/tv's in your room, wallscrolls or other things that can catch your attention can distract you)

ill help you cause its vacation here.......by the way you must concentrate on what are you doing and i see your a playful person you cant stand just sitting around and read a book all you have to do is entertain your self like memorizing example like your memorizing make a song of it so you can memorize it faster...... if you hate reading about it search it in the internet wiki Encarta you'll find pictures histories and much more if your a visual type you can memorize through pictures like once mine we have a test about rock and i only memorize the textures of the rock like diamonds are shiny maybe it made out of carbon and it is :D if you can study alone join a study group or let your parents teach you.........

Depends on what you have to study for Ex: History or English make a time line of events Math I don't think you can study for math maybe just look over equations Something more difficult to study for like Psychology you could review terms and people you could maybe make a time line for that as well. Good Luck

Im in exactly the same situation as you as I have my GCSEs starting next week. What I do is I get all summary sheets I need and highlight important info and just get all useful info together in one bunch. If you get annoyed just think you only have a month or two of exams and thats it, you will get rewarded in the summer!!

What really helps me is making note cards. its good for me because you can walk around and study or whatever and it makes it easy. Thats one way of doing it. If your studying for something like history or english , the best thing you can do is read over the material. For any vocab , notecards notecards

It shows you either don't care or aren't trying enough... Try putting on headphones and study study study!
