I am IT and not an historian, but I had a Museum as a costomer and became friends, and still is, with a Dotor and a Doctorandi in the history department. They dont make big mony in my City but they do have very interesting lives and a decent lifestyle. The doctor have written several books that he has researched, sympathetically, on leftwing political figures and ther relatives, in our coutry's history. The doctorandi (female) is one of the leaders in restoratiing old buildings in our city. This is to the point of canning fruit and making preserves for the pantry's of the old estate houses(Freshford Museum).Incedently: This museem enhaces its fund by jewelry promotions organised by my directors wife, who manages Freshford. I met one of the guys that majored in rock art and published numerous papers on the subject,(I am told that historians are expexted to publish papers regularly) The americans took note of this and invited him to a seminar in US of A. They prompty whipped him up, gave him a green card, and he is now a citizen of the USA. This is the opinion of a history lover ( but ammateur), Great IT expert though, Come on girl, become an Egyptolygist, the current one is becoming very long in the tooth.

is it me or should you not be at least wanting to do the degree you're going to go in for? It sounds to me like you're just playing about with the idea and can't really be bothered to find a direction in life. Why aren't you wanting to do the Psychology? Is it getting boring? Do you think History will be less of a bore? Perhaps it might be better to think of the long term goal...ie what you ultimately want to do...then tailor your education towards that goal
