I'm a foreign student getting a BS in Computer science. Is there a way I can get an internship in the States?

I'm 20 and this is my forth year out of five. I've been to the US three times so far, once as a high school exchange student and then twice on a Work&Travel program (unskilled summer work). Those were all J1 visas. I would love to take a year off in school and come back to the States for an internship in software development. I'm not really sure it it's at all possible. Does anyone maybe know someone who came to the US for an internship? Thanks
