What are good summer programs/internships for pharmacy near the Carson, CA area in order to gain experience?

  • My objectives is to learn about pharmacy and gain experience this summer if I were to pursue this field in college. I am a junior in high school and any suggestions are welcome. Please, if possible, include the website url and information about the program/internship. For ex: does it pay? how often do they meet? during what hours? is there a fee required to join the program? how do you apply? what is necessary for application? when is the application deadline? etc.

    I'm in pharmacy school right now, so what I recommend for you to do is to work part-time in a retail pharmacy (CVS, Target, Walgreens, Rite-Aid, etc) so that you can gain experience and earn you pharmacy technician certification. Once you earn your certification depending on where you live, you may even be able to work in a hospital setting. Working in the field is a great way to determine whether or not you like pharmacy, so I recommend just gaining practical experience in a retail setting first.
