How do you become an art teacher in the UK?

How do I become an art teacher?

  • I'm majoring in education and I'm almost ending my 2nd year. I am going to transfer from a college to a university to continue my major, and I want to continue majoring in education so that I can get a K-8 certificate for teaching, and I'd love to teach 3rd and 4th graders, but I'd also like to get teaching certificates for teaching individual subjects such as Spanish or Art. I'm just wondering for Art... 1. Do I need to major or minor in art to get a teaching certificate to teach art? 2. Do I need to major in art instead of education? 3. Can I continue majoring in education and taking art credits? and lastly.. 4. How many art credits do I need to have in order to earn a certificate for teaching art?

Other answers

You should be majoring in art with a minor in education. Then you have to get your teaching license. For your specific questions about credits, you would need to talk to a counselor.
